YSKC Academy offers a unique opportunity for current YSKC students from all backgrounds to develop all aspects of their musicianship in a creative learning environment - and form strong bonds and lifelong friendships along the way.
By offering supplemental classes to YSKC students entering their final years of high school, we aim to empower our young musicians with the wider skills necessary to become successful, well-rounded musicians. We hope to enrich their relationship with music by teaching them more about it, especially in areas they might not have already considered. We will provide our YSKC Academy students with the experience necessary for them to be able to make an informed decision about what their relationship with music should look like during college, and long into the future.
YSKC Academy classes are scheduled around the YSKC Orchestra rehearsals, and are on Sunday rehearsal days in most cases. Some of our courses are free and merit based, others are capped by a participation limit.
With a few exceptions, each class is offered once per semester and lasts four weeks. You must be an existing YSKC student to enroll in YSKC Academy courses, or an Alumni to enroll in YSCK Academy Alumni courses.
